I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if a low QR score (270) would be that bad. My academic average is 330 and my sciences is 350. Would that mean I should retake the test? Also my GPA is a 3.3 and I have tons of extracurriculars and volunteer work. Thanks.

I think you should be fine, especially if you have demonstrated solid marks in your mathematics courses. They will probably just dismiss the low QR score as an anomally if this is the case.

Well I had a C- in my pre-calc class (which is not a pre-req for optometry schoo) and straight B's in all of my calculus classes. So would a "B" be a "solid" grade?

I am not too certain about at B, guess it depends upon what end of the spectrum you are talking about. Best bet though would to to contact the admissions department at whatever schools you are considering and even speaking with the director if possible.

I would just study the OAT and naili in on QR if u have the time.
But I guess everyone is busy...sigh...

Same situation. I have the same scores (330AA/350TS) and the same reason for the lower AA score. I got 280 in QR. My GPA is lower though (3.0). I called the Kaplan test center yesterday to ask the same question and the lady I talked to said she'll email me back.
Can someone tell me how to post an original message? Thanks

Alferec, I got a 240 on my QR back in Feb. I got 340AA and 370TS with a 3.3 GPA. I got into SUNY just now. So you're not in trouble... I guess it depends on the school you want to go to. And as was mentioned, if they see that you got good grades in your math courses, then you shouldn't be at a disadvantage.

hey thanks for all the info i really appreciate your help!
