So just got back my step2ck score and its 10 points less than my step1 :scared:, i've already gotten 12 interview offers (confirmed 11 of them), and would really appreciate anyone's opinion/knowledge on how this turnout might effect my candidacy for ob/gyn.

Not really a competitive person, just want to find somewhere non-malignant for the next 4 years!

Thanks!

Same here. Didn't study enough and last minute wanted to reschedule but didn't think it was worth the $$. 7 points lower I guess isn't that much, but there was no reason that I shouldn't have gotten 15+ point higher. My grandfather was dying the week before and my family was making me feel so guilty about not being there with everyone so I was guilted into spending more time at home and on the phone, which was 1.5 hrs away. Not an excuse by any means, but just ticks me off that I didn't put my foot down about needing to study. I did well on Step 1 so I guess it's not a big deal. Just kind of feel like a loser.

umm... please get a grip. If you did well on step 1, and your step 2 score is 7 points less, RELAX! It was far more important for you to spend time with your family and grandfather in the last few hours of his life then study and gain a couple extra points on Step 2. You are where you are today because of your parents, and as a result your grandparents. So you did the right thing by spending time with your family during that troubling time. Residency is around the corner and soon enough you will be so preoccupied with work that you will miss spending time with your love ones. Everything will work out. So again, relax! Sorry to hear about your grandfathers loss.

P.S. I guess I feel worthy of giving you the above advice because the exact same thing happened to me. Except it was Step 1 and I wouldn't take back 1 hour or 1 day of the time I spent with my grandfather. I never looked back. I matched at my first choice. So again, everything will work out. Quit griping.
