www.predents.com

You'll find them there.

That's where I look for inspiration!

Lowest I've heard of was a few years ago. 2.9 and 19

The next lowest was like a 3.2 though, so that's a big jump; there was probably something special about that applicant (a lot of experience, adverse situation, very passionate, etc)

how does predents.com give u inspiration.......almost everyone on there has 20+

it all depends where..its not uncommon at all to get into the private schools with a 3.2 and excellent DAT scores. 3.2 isnt that bad

Maybe you haven't looked hard enough. There are plenty there. It's easier to find them by searching the "rejected" list of a random school, and then after clicking on a person's profile, finding they got in somewhere.

i'm also in the low gpa boat. i'm currently trying to get adopted by a native american family

When I applied 2 years ago I had 3.1 overall, 2.66 science. Had good DATs though... don't know what the trends are like recently. In the words of the venerable Jules Verne, as long as there is life there is hope!

How much weight do you think my non-science GPA has from 6 yrs ago? I graduated in 2000 with a 2.86 in business. taking science classes now and maintaining a 4.0... i shouldn't worry about the old info, should I?

Not really...I did the same and was fine...not one school even asked about my first time around

did you include the old GPA info when applying? I think i have to because I didn't go back for a second degree... just the pre-reqs.

Here is the deal...
ALL of your classes will be placed into the overall GPA. The classes you took for your major and the new classes you are taking as prereqs for dental school. Also note that any classes that you retake (ie You got a D in accounting, chemistry, ect.) and after taking the class(es) again you earn an A the grades will be averaged.

Now, You must have taken some basic science in undergrad so these too will be put together in your prereqs as your science GPA.

If you do well on you the DAT, and you have a high science GPA you will get interviews. Just remember grades and DAT ONLY get your foot in the door, it is the interview that seals the deal.
