i interviewed at loyola in early jan and will be going there in july. it was also my first choice. you should really check out interviewfeedback.com for good advice on this school. i know that site was down for awhile, but it should be up now. the interview is really laid back. i know you will be nervous anyway, but just try and be friendly and relaxed. you will meet with two doctors (i met with a family practice MD and an oncologist/hematologist MD/PhD) and the dean of admissions. you will also have a tour with a student. brush up on all the usual interview questions. talk about your personal interests. i spent a full 15 mins talking about running marathons with the PhD guy. i talked a lot about my clinical experiences. the family practice MD basically told me "i am here to be your advocate to get you into this school. tell me all about yourself, your experiences, and explain anything on your application or your transcripts that could come into question when we review your file. i want to be prepared to defend you". that was kind of an open format, but i went into full detail about my low-GPA semester in college and everything i have learned working on the hospital and on the ambulance. just try to not be intimidated but any questions, and be honest if you don't know. and check out interviewfeedback.com. lots of specific questions there. you will love loyola. the students are really friendly and fun, and they have a great gym. 🙂 overall, it would be a great place to spend four years. good luck!!!
