I'm in the process of filling out the Loyola secondary and in the directions it says that if you feel you already answered the question in your AMCAS essay to simply put "please refer to my AMCAS application". Is this a terrible idea? I'm specifically wondering about question #3 "How did you reach your decision to enter medicine? Describe your participation in any health care or other activities which reinforced your decision." This was what my AMCAS essay was about, so I dont know if it's really ok to just reference it, or try to come up with something new (which would be hard since I said what I wanted to say in AMCAS). I know this is generally a bad idea, but since they specifically say to do this, is it still a bad plan. Any thoughts??

when did loyola send their invites to the supp app?

please do NOT do this, it is a horrible idea. the secondary application is an opportunity to show them how much u want this. by restating ur primary app, u show them u dont give a F***. my brother goes to geffen and said that you should not restate ur amcas ps at anytime.

peace in the middle E

i also put refer to amcas for the motivation question. For those interested, I got letter in the mail refering me to the site

the link that I have doesn't seem to work! Did you manage to access the site?
thanks a lot
best of luck to all

hey jmeyers,

I think it is perfectly acceptable to do this- that is why they say so - if you have already answered it elsewhere, there is no need to come up with a different answer- you don't want to have two contrasting paragraphs on what motivated you to go into medicine. anyways, i just finished the year app process - i applied to loyola (and got accepted), and I DID this for numerous secondary questions.

good luck!
