I keep getting letters in the mail for a Masters in Medical Sciences from Loyola Chicago. I was wondering if anyone participated in this program. It offers an intense regimen of the basic sciences you will encounter in medical school in one year. If you are able to maintain a 3.5 Grad GPA, have a UGrad GPA of at least 3.0 and an MCAT score of at least 28, the program offers a guaranteed interview at The Stritch School of Medicine. The cost, of course is monumental. Not counting living expenses it will run over 30K. Anyone think this is a worthwhile investment? For someone like me with a subpar GPA and a 30 MCAT, it's intriguing.

I can think of one person on SDN who (i am 90 percent sure) went here and so far got 5 acceptances!! . . .

where ya from? the lake shore campus is gooooorgeous when it's nice out but horrible in the winter!!

I got one from them the other day with the added, "This letter is not from any medical school you applied to." . . . I applied to Loyola . . . who's this letter from? 🙂

That person did not enroll in the MAMS program; they were in the post-baccalaureate pre-health program.

Loyola University Chicago. A distinct beast, in terms of mailings, from the Medical Campus/SSOM.

Just looked it up - MAMS is in the bio department? That seems short-sighted.
