do d-schools accept letters from TA?i called several schools & all of them said no.

I Would Not Use A Ta To Write Your Recommendation Letter. Use Two Professors Of Science And 2 Dentists.

you could get your TA to write the letter and have the professor sign it.... most professors are cool with this as long as they respect the TA.

jb!🙂

Bingo.

True dat. You need to have the LOR from the faculty member, not the TA. I like the idea of getting the TA to have the faculty member endorse the LOR. That way you get a LOR that counts plus you sneak in a personal reference from someone who know you better than a face in the crowd. I wish I would have thought of this.

I thought of that as well...since my org lab TA knew me so well (plus i got an A 🙂 ) but i called dental school & they said they do not accept letters from TA...but i never asked them about professor cosign as well...hmm if some1 calls d-schools & finds out can you please post it?

thanks!

don't ask....just do. all of my letters were written by my professors and PI's, but a couple of my friends that were desperate for a letter or two just asked a TA who knew them well to write a letter and have the professor sign it. It worked out just fine for them..

a letter needs to be credible...and credibility is backed up by degrees. So yeah, the dorky biochem/ochem TA (I was one) won't cut it. Even if they wrote it back it up with a degree toting supervisor.
