Same here. Nothing besides that. According to predents.com, their first interviews weren't until Oct. 8th last year, so I imagine it'll be a few weeks still before anyone hears anything from them.
 
Keep us updated! LSU is my #1 pick when I apply, curious to know when they send out invites!
 
I emailed Dr. Ritchie on Aug 3 and asked when the secondary applications would be sent out, and he said it was still early in the application screening process.

Isn't LSU one of the schools that only has you fill out a secondary if you're invited for an interview?
 
Ya it does make you send the fee at the time you designate it, but there is still a secondary application before they offer an interview.

LSU is my first choice too! Nervoous!

Apparently it isn't, because I just got the supplemental and I wasn't invited for an interview.....yet.

Yeah, i got my supplemental application request last week as well. I can tell you that being requested to fill out the supplemental application definately does not guarantee an interview. Last year, i was asked to fill out the supplemental and was not granted an interview. However, having said that, I wasn't asked to fill out the supplemental last year until late december, weeks after they had already begun in-state interviews (I am in in-state applicant). Whereas this time I was requested in mid August. I happen to work occasionally with one of the professors at the dental school in his private practice, and he has informed me that it is means a lot more to receive the request for a supplemental early. So, HOPEFULLY, getting the request this early is a good sign and means that an interview request will follow. But, they interview the out-of-staters first, so it may be a while before interview requests are offered. Either way, i am trying to focus on other things so i don't go completely crazy because I am extremely nervous as well. I will keep everyone posted on anything i hear, I hope everyone else will do the same. Good luck to all of you.

Are you talking about paying the 50$ fee? I just paid that as well.
 
I'm an Arkansas resident and I know 2 people from here who've recived supplementals. I'm mailing mine tomorrow when I take my picture and get my id scanned.

No, that gets sent in with your original application. The supplemental application is a second part that deals with draft card status, copy of driver's licence, residency form, etc..

Draft card status? what is that? Are you talking about selective services?

Yes, for all male applicants, you have to print our your draft card status saying that you registered for the draft. It is part of the supplemental application.

I just mailed my supplemental today. And I'm an out of stater. How long do you think before they send out interview invites?

They only accept 2 out of state. You have to have a connection with New Orleans for them to consider you. I am connected to the city, so that's why I got a supplemental.

well idk if thats all the way true. Im not connected to the school, have never been to Louisiana or New Orlean, but i got a supplemental app 🙂

Yeah, its not definite but if you talk to Dr. Ritchie and look at the section of the supplement where it ask you to write a few paragraph on your connection to New Orleans, it is an important point. I'm not saying there is no chance, but LSU does want some reason why you want to go to LSU. And you are regionally close to Louisiana, like me, so good luck if you get an interview. Keep us up to date.

Just received secondary app request from LSU. I am a Texan and my grandparents live in New Orleans, so I guess I can say that I do have a connection....

Has anybody else recieved any interviews from LSU besides the Sept 30 batch?

For those who had their interviews Sept 30, how was it?
 
I know someone who is interviewing on October 21 and found out about this about 2 weeks ago.
 
I go to LSU as well! I'm only a sophomore though 🙁. And i think they accept 5 out of states now..

I think they've always accept 5, but three are from Arkansas and the other two from anywhere else. Are you saying the accept 5 from anywhere else? That would make it 8 total.
 
Ah, my bad lol.

also on a random side note. Appearantly LSU Dental is going to stop grading the national board exams and just giving you a pass/fail grade in the next two years or so.. Is every dental school doing this or just them?
 
Yeah, that's how it'll be for every school.

Class Composition
The Admissions Committee selects 65 students from the applicant pool for the first year class. At the present time, 56 slots in the class are reserved for residents of Louisiana, up to 4 for Arkansas residents, and up to 5 residents from other states. For more details on residency requirements, please click here. After reading the regulations, if you have questions about residency, they should be addressed to the Registrar of the LSU Health Sciences Center (504-568-4829).
 
Thanks. I just got a call from Mrs. Ritchie yesterday. I got an interview on 11-11-11.
