I just checked my AADSAS and LSU updated the description on my school decisions to:

"When your application is complete, it will remain under review until the class is full. It will not change until final decisions are made. You will be notified by email if you are invited for an interview."

I already filled out a supplemental app. so I was just wanting to know if anyone else got this, and does it mean they are done giving out pre dec interviews?

I had the same status update this morning. I haven't received an LSU interview yet, and I'm a little surprised actually. It's fairly easy to get into LSU as an in-state compared to getting into an private university elsewhere (25% vs 3% admissions).

I've heard from reliable sources that LSU tends to do things slowly though and they usually don't get around to too many pre-december interviews. So hopefully we get good news in the next month or two.

Are you an LA resident?

What are your stats if you don't mind me asking?

My application says the same thing as of this morning. I just got an email this afternoon for an interview on December 2!

How is everyone doing on their chalk? I ordered some from Office Depot and the chalk is not symmetrical or smooth at all. It makes the pointed end of the chalk so hard to do because its hard to find the middle. Just wondering if anyone else was having problems.

As a current LSU dental student, I thought I could help clarify some of these topics. The post regarding the information posted from the LSUSD website regarding Out-of-State students is correct. That being said the important thing to understand is that it says UP TO, therefore LSU is not required to accept any out of state students. There is a contract with Arkansas as mentioned. If an Arkansas resident rejects the offer, opting to attend another school, their position can be offered to an in-state student. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Did you get accepted the first time you applied?

You should practice on that chalk that is messed up. I'm at LSU right now and I know for my interview it seemed like everyone got a piece of chalk that was less than ideal.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your stats like? From talking to people around the school supposedly this cycle has been one of the most competitive cycles they've ever had come through. The average gpa is a 3.8 and average DAT scores are a 20 or 21 from what I'm hearing. They moved the number of interviews up to almost a 120 people because so many people had identical stats. Good luck

Out of state as in Arkansas or somewhere else? Either way I would say you have a pretty good chance if you were in the first batch of out of staters but even better if it's Arkansas. Good luck!

I'm from Texas. I hope I find out on Dec 1st and not later. I'm counting down the seconds.

It is very competitive. I heard someone in my interview group got a 30 on the DAT!!! that's so crazy. And I missed the cookout they had at the end of the day. Jambalaya anyone???

no way.....i don't believe it! i think someone was telling a little white lie.

does anyone know when the last batch (post dec 1) interviewees are supposed to be informed?

i know there's about 20-30 people in that late group--pretty much the ones with good stats but not great that all pretty much are on the same level.

has anyone already been informed about a post dec 1 interview or know if theyre in that last batch?

i just want to be sure my chances arent over...

They are meeting tomorrow to accept candidates from out of state. Good luck everyone!! Did anyone else interview yet?

I had an interview on November 18th, this past Friday. Dr. Ritchie told us personally that 39 people had already been chosen for acceptances and there were 17 spots left for in-state applicants. They are interviewing 10 people on Dec. 2nd and 20 people on Dec. 9th. That will be the last of the interviews, he said they were finishing up early this year. There were 7 out of state applicants at my interview and he said they were the last to be interviewed. The in-state applicants will be notified on Dec. 12th whether they are accepted or not.

I'm also an out-of-state from the 11/11 interview date! I was wondering the same thing and if we will find out by phone or if they notify by additional methods.

Is Dec. 1st the date for out of state? Will I definitely know on this date?

Oops meant to write back to this ^

I'm pretty sure you get an electronic notification on dec 1st/the day they're going to let you know!

I havent heard from them but I checked my aadsas and it said waitlisted. Can you find out how far down the list you are? I'm an Arkansas resident though.

Really? My AADSAS still says "Invited for Interview" so I'm not sure what that means. Hopefully not a rejection. I'm also an Arkansas resident and I know that when I interviewed he told us we would for sure be finding out today, so I'm a little confused, since I haven't gotten any email, call, or update. I think that some schools will let you know what your position on the waitlist is if you call them up and ask, so it's worth a try.

I interviewed yesterday and Dr. Ritchie gave us the following information: the last interview will be next Friday and there will be 22 students interviewed. December 12 they will make the final acceptances and will be reviewing 30 in state students for 15 seats. He made it sound like all out of state students had been decided on as of Deceber 1. Hope this helps and good luck to everyone on the 12th!

did anybody hear anything today?? They told us we were supposed to find out on the 12th...one of my friends called and they told him he was accepted but when I tried to call nobody has answered. Has anyone gotten an e-mail?

They said they would make the final decision on the 12th, but wouldn't be done til the end of the day and probably wouldn't make the calls or update aadsas until the 13th. They did say we were welcome to call, but we might not get through to anyone or they might not have the decisions. I elected to wait.

Aadsas has been updates. Wait listed... Does anyone know any information on LSU's wait list policies?

Mine still says invited for interview as well...but my friend's updated around 6:15 saying he was accepted...I have a bad feeling about it.

Still no update! Ah this is killing me, how long does it take?! I don't really want to call and ask either, because that could be awkward if I didn't get in. I hope they're not saving the "rejected" pile for last. Any change in your status yet?

hey guys
For those of you who don't know yet, if your aadsas has not been updated and still says "invited for interview" it means you were not accepted or offered an alternate spot.

i know a few people with stellar DAT scores who didn't get in so not really sure what they were going for this cycle. The average incoming students GPA was a 3.7 though so it seems that they're just trying to pad that number and nothing else (ECs, work experience, dat score, quality of interview) even matters. It was competitive, but still reasonable, at a 50% shot of getting in.

best of luck to everyone out there who still has not been accepted elsewhere.

are they Louisiana residents?

Has anyone heard back from LSU. I haven't heard any news from them. It seems as if there is no movement on the waitlist. If someone can give me some information I would really appreciate it.

When I interviewed there I remember talking to a student who said that he got in off the waitlist in the spring (April or May, I think). But, it also seems like LSU maintains a very small waitlist that doesn't usually move a lot. Most of the people who get in end up going, since they want to stay close to home and it's so cheap. In fact, I couldn't believe that most people in my interview group ONLY applied to LSU!
Anyways, Good Luck!
