So, I've done my fair share of reading on SDN and with finals week rolling around, I'm getting a bit neurotic so I'm hoping you guys could help alleviate some of my angst.

I'm a student at a top 25 university and I'm on the verge of completing my freshman year. My grades (of course) are of concern and they honestly keep me up day and night. It's getting to a point where I can't really enjoy "college life". I've loved medicine all my life (I kinda grew up in a hospital because I was always so sick and learned to love the profession by seeing patients leave healthy) and it kills me to know my grades might not make it.

First semester was rough for me (relationships and friend passed away). I ended up with a 3.4 (I know it's not terrible) BUT a 2.5 sGPA.

C in Calc 1
B in Chem 1
A's in 3 Gen Eds

Now as second semester comes around, I've begun to speculate what my final grades will be. Most likely, they will be

A in Chem 2
B in Bio 1
B in Calc 2
A in Statistics
2 A's in Gen Eds
1 B in Gen Eds

On paper it doesn't look too shabby but I calculated and it's still around a 3.2 sGPA which totally bums me out.

Give me some advice, motivation, anything to kill this finals week coming up (if I do well, some of those B's might become A's). I know I sound neurotic as hell but what's a freshman to do...

My schedule for next semester will contain Orgo1 and Lab, Bio 2, Biochem, and some Psych courses. Any tips on how to tackle those?

Well, the good news about that 3.2 sGPA, is that you're a freshman. You have so much time to better it!

Work harder and get your grades up in order to save yourself an immense amount of stress and heartache later on when you have to do damage control, post bacc, smp, etc. Feel motivated now?
