**This is a brand new school anticipating accepting students starting this cycle! Some brief things to note:
- It anticipates initial accreditation with CODA reviewing its program this coming September but has opened its application in anticipation of a June 2025 start date. It is unknown so far if they will be able to allow government loans to attend.
- It does require the DAT to apply, requiring a minimum score of at least 17AA and not older than 5 years
- A bachelor's degree is not required, with a minimum of 90 credits completed and a minimum 2.8 Science GPA

Is this a better school compared to NYU where it is new means better? I heard NYU is literally the worst school to go to if we don't get into any schol but that school.

New doesn't always mean better. You need to self assess your options and what you're looking for in your dental education. NYU is a very well establish school where Lyon will be brand new and will have some growing pains as they make adjustments to their curriculum. For some, this is worth it, for others, they may not want to shell out 400k+ to be a guinea pig at a new school that hasn't graduated a class.

Figure out what's important to you, and go from there. If you like the school's mission and could see yourself possibly attending, apply! I would definitely visit the campus if you can to get a feel for the school as well.

My understanding is that they will be accepting applications until they fill their class. Take that for what you will

**Please note: The Lyon College School of Dental Medicine (LCSDM) has entered into the accreditation process. Accreditation is only granted by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Student acceptance/enrollment is contingent upon CODA granting initial accreditation to LCSDM.

I know that!! Initial accreditation was removed from website this week somewhere in the middle of the page; so pretty sure they got the intial accreditation approved
