With even straight Medicare patients I’m seeing lyrica be denied consistently unless the patient has

FMS, SCI, DM induced neuropathy, cancer related neuropathic pain

Are you seeing this too in your practice?

Many of my elderly patients are going to either be in significantly more pain or a lot more sedated with worse balance, if this is the new norm from Medicare.

In my parts, lyrics constantly requires PA. I almost never use it because of this

Almost all of our chronic pain patients have a constellation of symptoms that would qualify for fibromyalgia. Might be worthwhile ordering it under that diagnosis as long as you agree with the diagnosis

I understand your perspective. But patients who receive the diagnosis of FMS are also stigmatized by other docs. I feel bad about that, though elderly “FMS” is different
