I was looking over my AACOMAS app and realized that I forgot to include an "extra" ethnicity. My mother his hispanic/latino and my father is middle eastern, so I'm latino and white. However, I marked latino only and wasn't sure whether middle eastern was considered "white"; I meant to find out and check it if appropriate in my app.

However, I forgot that I did so and submit my AACOMAS. Do you think they would question my application? I mean...could I just say that I didn't know that middle eastern was "white"?

I feel that if you picked only Latino because you self identify as Latino more, and that is no problem.

If you really want to have it changed, the only option is to call AACOMAS customer service and ask for their advise.

If anything, when you introduce yourself during interviews you can briefly mention your cultural background. I believe culture is important in applicants.

Thanks. I didn't see an "other" box, in which I would have put "Middle eastern". So I just picked what was available. I'll just play the "I didn't know middle eastern= white" card and see what happens...lol.

Nobody will care. I don't think they can legally ask you "are you really Hispanic?"

True. I'm not being dishonest here though, I really am half hispanic. Was part of the community, etc. I'm only concerned they're gonna be iffy about me not accounting for my middle eastern half. But it should be no biggie.

You're fine. Trust me.
