Hey everyone, this is my first post 😀 but been a long time reader
Ok here the situation..
Earlier this year I got offered a paid position (TA position) at my school for the upcoming Fall and the paper work has been already handled at May to go through human resource. The professors insisted that I put that on my application and so I did (professionals right?!)
Got everything submitted 2nd batch, however due to some administrative problems by the university, they won't allow me to take the position. I've fought this for a week now and there's no possible way for me to get it. Me and the department found it the rules ridiculous, but it is the rules stated by the university, but no one mentioned it to me or them; but the worst part now is that I cannot change it on my AADSAS application and the schools already received everything. Despite how much the Bio department wants me to do it, there's no possible way and now it looks as if I stated false info on my application.
Solution me and my professor has come up with is that they'll write me as a letter and I can explain myself when I get to the interview.
Three way I can do this..
1) Call each school I applied to (even though they really don't want to take phone calls at this point) and explain my situation and send them those letters if they want it now.
2) Get to the interview and BEFORE they even ask me questions, tell them about the incident and give them the letter (shows that I'm honest and bonus points?) as proof.
3) Don't mention anything and hopefully they won't mention it. Or if they do mention it, then I explain that I didn't do it THEN give them letter (makes me look bad? like I wouldn't have told them unless they brought it up in conversation?)
What does everything think?
