I just made the mistake of re-reading one of my secondary applications. I noticed 3 typos where words were spelled incorrectly (a letter left out). I am horrified. Must have occured during my re-typing (although I did cut and paste it back into word afterwards to check for errors). Makes an otherwise polished and well organized essay look ignorant and amateur. Damn. Anyone else have similar problems? Any adcom people out there comment on how they have viewed these sorts of errors?

I think I spelled traveling wrong on one of my secondaries. I wrote travelling instead. On Word, it said it was wrong, but when I looked it up on dictionary.com, I got both spellings, but the latter was the British spelling. Maybe they figured it was something I picked up on when I was there and didn't care so much? Didn't matter, cause I got an interview there.

I also made the mistake of looking back after my UT-SA interview. Right after I was done I felt comfortable with my performance(even though my first interview did run out of time....🙄 ), especially given that I'm shy and an introvert.

But now I'm starting to wonder, and I keep thinking maybe I didn't keep a good posture, that I didn't say the right things, that I said "um" too many times, etc.

I think the best thing is NOT to think about them. 😍

My AMCAS had a glaring mistake (an extra word which makes no sense at all) which I (and my mom and my counselor) didn't even notice until my brother pointed it out a couple weeks ago, 2 months after I submitted it. Fortunately, it doesn't look like it made TOO much of a difference in secondary screening/interviews... so far. I was kicking myself over it though. I think you'll be fine.

Yea, that sucks. I had a mistake on one of my secondaries after I submitted it, so I re-read every other secondary. There is nothing we can do after-the-fact, so don't worry too much about it.

perhaps we can get a sticky for people discovering typos in their applications. right below 'should i mention my suicide attempt/medical history/homosexuality in my PS?' would save some space...
