Make a wish: What would you do for a year before trying to MATCH into surgery?

Thanks for all the advice about Plastic Surgery residencies! My next question is, if I have a year to do whatever I want before the MATCH for 2003, what should I do? Is there anything a year could do to bolster my application?

:wink: :wink: :wink: Golf, work out, play softball, watch sports... oh you said bolster your application, darn.

How about research, work on those Personal Statements, LORs. volunteer at the local Plastic Surgeon's office, however avoid during any plastic on your friends, do observe at the local hospital shadow a famous (or not so famous) surgeon, and finally have some plastic surguy since it may be years before you can ever afford it?
