How do you make connections with people at your university for future endeavors?

Also, I found some AMAZING opportunities for gap years, but I'm a sophomore.
Would it be too early to send an email?

The best connections I made were with professors I took classes with. It eventually landed me two different research lab positions. These professors were able to introduce me to their colleagues and that led to more connections. I think professors are your best resource to network with people. You can also try premed clubs and whatnot also. Also, it's never too early to start networking and making connections. Good luck!

Yes. Focus on getting through this year, not your plans for 2+ years in the future.

Also, do not put too much stock in connections, but rather your own achievements.

Small classes (<20 students) are a godsend for making connections with professors.
