I haven't received much good news for any schools for Fall 2016 so I'm currently planning my gap year. I'm applying for AmeriCrops right now and I'm very excited and enthusiastic about the work I'm going to be able to do, however I'm wondering how much it can actually impact my admission for the 2017 cycle.

I'd realistically be able to start working for AmeriCorps only after I graduate in June, but I'm also going to be sending out my med applications as early as I can for the 2017 cycle. I feel like the experiences I would have working with Americorps would impact my personal statement and application greatly, but does that mean I won't really be able to include anything from it, and it won't really impact my app except during interviews? Or should I wait until I've worked with them for at least a month before submitting it, so I get can write something about it? Thanks!

IMO do not postpone turning in that app to write about it. Perhaps write about it in secondaries? Send the school an update?
