Making the most of the summer

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Well, to make the most of your summer you should do great lab work and publish 1st author in cell and science (ideally working in 2 labs to do clinical and bench-top science). This might also set you up for a nobel which could give you a little boost when residency matching. As well, if you could pass health-care reform that would be great....

In all seriousness, that sounds like a very good summer already and I would just focus on doing good work and taking pride in the research that you do. If you are a dedicated to the lab and make the effort, it will be noticed.

Looks like you are making good choices already. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to people, take any opportunities you can to network with professors or people connected to the ADCOM. It is difficult to walk the line between being forward and being annoying but definitely the more you can get your name out the better!
