I was just reading the new CNN article posted today - titled "Gynecologist jailed for raping and fondling patients"

I hate 😡 when someone makes all the guys look so bad on the national level. It is so discouraging when you have a passion for the field, you are good at something and yet patients read something like this and again start judging you based on your sex :scared: . Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? 🙁

Not all women think that about males in the field of OB/GYN. I have no real preference about whether I see a male or a female as long as they're compassionate and listen to me.

Sometimes I think it's refreshing to see a male, because it seems like these days the field is dominated by women.

Some women don't want to see females, they have a more traditional view of doctors and think that males are better qualified.

Stay positive! There will always be greatful patients out there who just want a competent and caring doctor, and who don't care if you're male or female.

As I read this article it wasn't the fact that he was a male that stuck out to me, it was the fact that he is Nigerian. Hopefully it doesn't reflect badly on the Nigerian community. I cannnot believe someone would abuse the priviledge of practicing medicine in such a way!!!!
