My malpractice is through Locum company. They use Continental casualty for 20 years. And my malpractice insurance is continental Valid till 2022 if I go through them. When I was working full time in 2003 in California , I had The doctors company as my carrier, as a lot of the full timers in that Hospital also had the doctors company. Getting Malpractice was a laborious process those days. From 2000 I had another Comp, the Medical Protective company claims made policy 2/4 million.
The recent Locum gig was interested in me joining them full time. As this place was only an hours drive I was seriously thinking and got a quote from CAP MPT, I was surprised that premium was less than 1000$. For the rest of 3 months. This new group run by a smaller AMC has contracts at surgical centers and they were not promising the hours. So basically i am working only 20-30 hours per week and i Decided against joining full time. I am going to contract independent of the locums company and use the CAP mpt.
Med pro, Berkshire hathaways insurance is supposedly the best. I am getting a quote from them For occurrence 2/4.
Any one has suggestions?
