Does anyone know anything about the program??

I would not recommend this program. Disclaimer: my info is a few years old and is just one opinion. I could have gone there essentially for free but was advised against going there by people high up in the school who knew what was going on behind the scenes. Their sciences are generally pretty weak since they don't put any money into them. The labs are really old and outdated. Their chemistry and physics are especially weak and for the post-bac program they tend to hire a lot of part-time adjuncts. They have a couple of good biology professors but their areas of interest are not related to medicine. If you look at their track record of getting people into medical school and graduate programs in the sciences for both undergrad and post-bac, it was not very good at the time I was considering it.

If nothing has changed since then, you would not get the best prep there and your research options would be very limited. Given how expensive the place is, I would seriously consider going elsewhere. If you want to pay for private, go to a program with a better reputation like Columbia or Bryn Mawr. If you don't want to pay that much then try Hunter or just look into doing the classes at SUNY Purchase or something. If you are really into going to Manhattanville I would get some concrete stats on how many people they have gotten into schools, how their people do on the MCAT, what the research options are, who teaches the classes, etc. before commiting to spending all the $ to go there. Hope that helps.

You should try Suny Purchase. I am a student there (not post bacc, a biology senior) The Gen Bio class is terrible, but you'll learn what you need to. The organic chem professor is an excellent teacher. He's the best professor i had for any chemistry course. From what I heard physics was a breeze. There are some advanced bio classes there if you need to boost your GPA even more. Take the electron microscopy classes for an easy A (but you have to do all the lab work, which is pretty easy) and any advanced class taught by Dr. Peters (He grades with a massive curve and I mean massive) A combination of these has helped me boost my undergrad GPA a lot. :meanie: Being able to slick talk the professors won't hurt either 😉
