Manual dexerity

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Nobody really cares about what skills one has for manual dexterity, everything in dentistry could be learned. I basically have 2 left thumbs and I do fine as a dentist.

I don't think adcoms consider gaming as a means of hand-eye coordination. Which is a shame because you can get pretty good with it. I would just mention it if they ask about what you like to do for fun.

I think many of the dental educators I know agree with this with a condition... the skills are less important than the persistence to master the skills.

People say it doesn’t matter, but when I graduated from dental school - 1/4 of my classmates preps looked jagged as heck. I wouldn’t want to be their first real patient. Lol
