Have any of you experienced many interviews (3,4, or even 5 schools) and still not received an acceptance? I have a strong application except for my MCAT score and have now heard from two schools both who invited me for interviews. I still have 18 more schools with applications out there. Just wondering if this is common, or are the other parts of my application shining through?

Hang tight, I think it takes most schools 6-8 weeks post interview to send out an acceptance/rejection letter. I know most schools don't even begin interviewing until late September/October. I have 5 interview invites, two done and three more to go. One school said about 6-8 weeks to let me know, the other said about 2-3 weeks which is actually very unusual. This waiting is terrible but what can you do, right?

6 interviews, 1 waitlist, 0 acceptances. You're not alone.

8 interviews, 4 waitlist and 0 acceptances. This is a damn rollercoaster. 😡

Just heard from one school: waitlist.
Ugh.

4 interviews, 1 waitlist, 0 acceptances (but 2 more interviews to go)

Wow, that's a lot of interview invites. That must be a good sign right? You're bound to get in at least one! 🙂

4 interviews, 1 waitlist, o acceptances, (2 to go, waiting to hear about the second)

Ugh is right. My boss told me that, hopefully, I will get lucky (likening this process with a coin toss). I'd rather not think about the process being a coin toss, but I'm beginning to wonder.

I'm waiting to hear from Maryland next week...pleeeeasse let me hear something good!

:luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: to everyone

4 interviews, 2 waitlist, 0 acceptance. Blahhhhhhhhhhh

Good everyone 👍

Bluemagpie: I am sure you will hear something good next week from UMD. Me, on the other hand, still waiting to get an interview from UMD (top choice) since late august. Good luck!!!

I posted my application story in the Reapplicants-November 2004 forum if you want to read more about it, but for those wondering...

When I applied in early July of last year - 5 interviews, 4 waitlists, 0 acceptances

I applied this year in early October - 2 interviews (went on 1, must schedule the other), 0 waitlists, 1 acceptance

I didn't have many interviews..I only had 3, but then I cancelled my 3rd one because I got accepted at one school I interviewed at. I know...I only need one acceptance...but this just shows that this process is so random, because you guys all have more interviews than me, and I've been complete for a long time so things don't look good for me in terms of the other schools. Best of luck everyone!

Thanks! Don't worry if you haven't heard from UMD, they started interviewing a little bit later than some of the other schools.
