1. When you use Br2/hv does it add on markovnikov or antimarkovnikov?
Is there a difference when its alkane or alkene?

2. If you add Br2 to an alkane- does it add trans or cis?

1. br2 and hv adds to the most substituted carbon
2. if you add br2 you get trans via a bromonium ion

Also Br2/hv or NBS/ROOR hv adds Br to allylic Carbon when it's reacting with alkene. So make sure you see if hv is there with Br2 or not 😛
