I am currently reading "Marley and Me" and it is a really good book! Has anyone else read it? It is about this couple and their crazy lab and all the wonderful and not so wonderful perks of owning a rambunctious dog! It is really cute, so if you like to read, I would recommend it to any dog lover 😍

I haven't read a book for my own enjoyment in YEARS. Well, except the last Harry Potter book. I had that thing done within 6 hours of getting my paws on it.

Maybe I should post that on Nyanko's "what's good about waiting a year?" thread: I can flippin' read a book just for fun. Maybe two!

aw i thought this book was so cute too. definitely hits home due to the crazy dog i've got, ha! they're actually making a movie version of this book with owen wilson i heard.

I *heart* that book! I got it for Christmas a couple years ago when it first came out and I've read it twice. Whenever my cat goes all Crazy McPsycho on me, I just remind myself that I'm lucky he's not 60 pounds! 😀

I loved that book too. Great writer, difficult ending.

I, too, love that book! You really can related to the author's description about all of Marley's quirks. 🙂

I loved this book!

Also, I am finally getting around to reading All Creatures Great & Small, which if you haven't read, is a MUST!

I would roll my eyes at you except that my boyfriend reads it to me sometimes before I go to bed...thus making me just as lame.

I got the All Creatures Great and Small and All Things Bright and Beautiful combo book from Barnes and Noble one time really cheap. I just never made it more than halfway through. 🙄 Read Marley and Me on Thanksgiving afternoon not long after it came out at the in-laws a couple years back. It was kind of embarrassing eating Thanksgiving dinner afterwards with red eyes from the sad ending.

SAD ENDING??

That's it, I'm not reading.

Seriously, books about pets always end on a melancholy note, because duh, they're going to die before the humans. I just find it hard to start a book that I know will end like that.

I read a Home Veterinary Handbook out of curiosity last summer, does that count?

I love Herriot and the All Things series, especially all of Tristan's practical jokes. Honestly, I didn't really like Marley and Me. I liked the dog and his antics, but it wasn't very well written. I guess it's going to be made into a movie as well--book to movie adaptations are always really interesting to me.
