Marquette status confusion

So today Marquette updated my status. First, it said Received/Under Review. Now, it says:

"Your file is complete. Your application has been reviewed and the Admissions Committee has not yet made a decision on your file. Some offers of admission as well as some denials have already been sent. Your file remains active in our applicant pool and it will continue to be reviewed at subsequent meetings of the Admissions Committee. A final decision on your application will be made in the coming weeks and months."

I didn't even send them my check. I don't get it! Does anyone know what this means?

yep I got the same thing today, but im pretty sure I have sent them the check already

It means that you were not chosen for their class right now. they may chose you in the spring..

I had the same thing last year and it is their unofficial rejection. They send out the official rejections around May. For some reason their status has changed a bit early. I had a friend who's just turned to "offer made". Sorry guys.

What gets me nervous is that a guy in the **Official interview invite/ rejection/ acceptance thread: 2010-2011 cycle** said he got a call a little more than an hour ago from the dean of admissions. Hopefully we get our calls soon...

he does have crazy numbers though. maybe they only make the top 10 phone calls today. lol

Well, I checked early today before class on AADSAS, and for the first time I did see Marquette listed, and it was all blank. Then is afternoon, I got a phone call, wasn't expecting calls today, and he made a offer of acceptance. He mentioned how he had short list of people he called, so I am sure that doesn't mean if you didn't get a call your not going to get in

I have the same status defined. I had this status last year when I applied and I was also denied. This is basically a nice way of denying us. The funny thing is that they received my app only a couple of days ago and they put up this status right away. I'm considering calling them and asking them "do you guys actually look at a late applicants application or do you simply give false hope to students in order to attain their supplemental application fee?" hey what do I have to lose, im going to be denied by them anyways why not?

It's their "Hold" status. If your application is complete the people on the hold list are the ones who are selected for admission, or possibly officially waitlisted down the road. While it's not the best status to get, it doesn't mean you're out of it yet.
