Hey all, first time poster here (long time forum stalker)! I would appreciate some opinions on the matter. Thankfully I have been accepted into both of these wonderful programs but I am torn between the two. I loved them both.
I live in Illinois not too far from MWU IL, so I would be able to commute. And from everything I have heard, people LOVE this dental school. The curriculum seems top notch, the students seemed happy and that is important. While dental school is extremely difficult, the ability to be happy during four years of our lives is critical. One con is the fact it is a new school with clinics that are not really established. The clinics are still finding their rhythm, but from what I garner it seems as though they are getting their name out there quite quickly. Of course the other con is the price point, many have justified it but it still is a tough burden... then again both are expensive.
Marquette felt like a home/family. They have a stellar reputation and seem to be even getting better with new clinics etc. The staff were absolutely friendly as were the students, so the environment seems wonderful as well. I guess the major point of contention for me is whether I would be happy in Milwaukee (opinions on this would be appreciated, critical ones or not). It seems like a great city, but I lived in Chicago for a while and nothing beat it for me.
I am completely torn, so I would sincerely appreciate any input anyone has on the matter. Experiences, opinions- anything really. The more information I take in the easier the decision. Thanks all, and best of luck with your application and decisions! Hopefully we all succeed together!
