Hi All,

My fiance and I will both be starting med school in the fall- at which point we will be married. Neither of us has gone through the loan process before, and we were wondering if combining bank accounts causes any kind of problems with loans- not in terms of the amount we are awarded, but since we already submitted FAFSA as two single individuals, will it require more paperwork/headaches if we try to have both of our loans placed into one bank account.

Thanks!

You can choose what account your loans are disbursed into. In fact, you can decide to have direct deposit or not. With direct deposit it is easy to choose what account you want and often it is all done online with setting it up.

Both my wife and I are just finishing up our first year together... we came in together. We did the same thing as you guys, and there was no problem when we had both of our loans deposited in one account. If you have any other specific questions about doing med school together, PM me.
