MarWWel -- GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
But my feels from catching up yesterday:

Samac: Villager but more aggressive than I am used to (I think)?
AM: Village since she is pushing people to try and get more reads and beginning to establish a block as I have seen her do as a villager (not sure I have seen wolf AM before though)
Borky: Villager since the roll reveal and the push to defend herself up to yeet close
Dubz: More neutral up until this point
Mother Sporty: Still cannot read so I can go either way
Cubz: Was giving me a bit more of a village feel when he joined the thread
Fluff: More neutral and really not sure how I feel about her. Her wording on things are a bit shaky but she is also still a noob
True: Despite posting a lot I would still put them in my neutral pile. I want to go over what they have said so far but he seems to be in the running for highest content posters.

Everyone else I am completely unsure of
God you’re up early

I’m not the best at giving detailed explanations, but I’m trying me best to get a zenges reading card. He has not been as convoluted today as he was yesterday.

Guys I've just had a bad thought.
What if there is no wolfpack? What if there are only 4ish lone wolves sprinkled throughout the game? I was pondering mechanics, and most of the Marvel villains don't really team up. It's typically a Big Bad and then some lesser goons. So, it sort of stands to reason that they wouldn't be in a cohesive group in this game. I mean, I'm having a hard time imagining a pack of, like, Kaecilius, Thanos, Mysterio, and Ultron.
Maybe I'm tinfoiling too hard, but with Mel's flip I feel like it isn't something we can rule out.
Dont like this train of thought. If there were two lone wolves then maybe go down this avenue, but this is a bit too far out to think about right now. (yes I know I am far behind but I could not read any more after reading SOPs all day for training yesterday)

How far did you get in your catch-up?

Man, why is it so much harder to wake up ridiculously early than it was in high school to do things that I should have done the night before?
I feel this

I'm still a bit conflicted, but here's the thing, this has dominated this cycle thus far. I can guarantee you, without a Fluff flip, it's going to keep dominating the thread until Fluff finally flips. It's better to rip the band-aid off.

This is kind of my opinion as well - if we don't flip this now we're just going to talk in circles for the next few days cycles re-hashing it. Unless there is otherwise compelling evidence, I feel like we need the info

I can see the fluff is an egg that needs cracking argument but that also makes me sad because I always think "but what if village" and being in that situation as village sucks. It will be really helpful for me solidifying some shaky reads if she does flip wolf though.

With the thread exit I’m gonna feel bad with the flip even if she’s wolf. My goal isn’t to push someone into a thread exit.
I’m gonna feel like a huge dingus if village.

Can you see the fluff is wolfy argument?

I mean sure, I can see the potential rojo thing (that's why I quoted it in the first place) and there was something else too that I now can't remember where I was like "yeah ok, that could be wolfy". I could see her post thanking me (and I think True?) for defending her as a bit of furry nooblet pocketing. I can see it, I don't think it's unreasonable. I just don't 100% believe in it.

I just realized that if wolves decide to kill me tonight it won't technically be on my birthday since night won't close until tomorrow morning. Damn loophole :yeahright:

Honestly, part of what makes me feel anxious about voting for her is the fact that there has been so little defense. I think it's basically just been you and me, and I know that I'm a villager and I'm 98% sure that you are.

So either she's getting soft-bussed (I think that's the term), or I guess they might just feel like it's too risky to defend her? It just feels weird that a wolf would be left on their own this early in the game when the pack is still fully intact.

i think cubs has also been defending her a bit too tho. which is why flipping her would also help me with my read on cubs. but i get what you're saying, and there hasn't really been any major pushback to the fluff vote today. everyone has kinda just come on to say we need to flip fluff so that this convo doesn't drag out over several day cycles.

I can see how people are seeing it they way they are, but is not that a pretty standard question for a noob who hasnt encountered that mechanic before? I still get confused myself on how 3p affect the numbers sometimes.

Oho! And if she flips village? Open season on you? So youre convinced fluff/barks was w/v?

So youre willing to go all in on a wolf read without having even evaluated important content between her and another player? Youre starting to give me the twitch, mi amore.

I feel like there’s been a lot of defense and I’ve done 2+ days of screaming to get here.

Tiny bit of defense from cubs too (in calling the barks/fluff argument v/v) but it was very slight. I think others said similar things but I can't remember who.

But yeah not much hard defending. Still, I wouldn't say there are that many wolves who will stick their neck out like I did with kdswg last game or samac did with Vis the game before. In a wolf!fluff world it depends on the pack and how much village goodwill the other wolves have to spend on defending her. If they're on shaky ground themselves they're less likely to try it.

And there have definitely been games (*cough*Emojis*cough*) where the "No one is defending them even though we know the pack is intact" argument was used as a reason to think the player in question was village, and it turned out that they were a wolf and wolves were just using other tactics to keep them from getting voted out.

So I don't see that in and of itself as a strong reason not to go there.

yes definitely more defense in the time it took to get to where we are now- but the current vibe on thread im sensing is that theres a general consensus we need to flip fluff

This is the post that really gets me:
So you've never mistakenly defended a wolf before?
I don't know how fluff says that as a villager about another player that may or may not be a wolf. It just sounds like her talking about a packmate.

I agree with this. I feel like there's been a lot of soft defending. Which, if it was a Rojo, I can see woof pack members doing that type of soft defense to see if they can dig their way out without incriminating themselves too badly. If it were a super obvious Rojo that wouldn't be an option but ambiguity like that means there's a chance

Wait since I’ve called that out didn’t you say you don’t understand the fluff push and you wanted to yeet me for manufacturing it?

Oh yeah that was the other post

unyeet cubs, yeet fluff

as much as it saddens me, i just dont see how some of the things she's said would make sense as a villager, and i also dont want this question mark about her to continue to tickle us all game.

what if fluff is the more valuable wolf in the cubs/fluff pair? how wolfy does this sound then?

Okay, I hear you. I just... she's the fluffy mayor, you know? 😔

Looking at that post again it does look really bad and I'm probably letting my squishy heart get to me too much lol

I assume she means that fluff has a more powerful ability
ok yeah just got that- took me a few rereads haha
but I've been wolf-reading cubs and fluff. im willing to vote either. i do think that flipping fluff will help inform a lot of my reads as I've stated earlier tho
