Anyone else get an offer of admission from Maryland Dental via e-mail/ aadsas, but no letter in the mail yet? Granted, the weather has been nuts here in Baltimore, but I must respond by the 15th of Feb (which I want to do). The school is closed, admissions office, closed, and I haven't received the hard copy of the letter yet.

Anyone else in the same boat? I'm planning on going in person as soon as the school opens to put the deposit down, but am a little worried about the date coming up fast...

Havent been able to reach them at all.
I have an interview next wk and need to confirm by today. ahhh😕
Sent them an email, left a voice.
Do you think I did enough to secure that interview spot??
BTW, if i was within the driving range, I would just stop by if i were u .
So since when did the school close?

Not to stress you out more, you should note that Monday is a holiday for most institutions. So check their website to make sure before deciding when to go. Tomorrow might be your best bet. Just letting you know.

Yes, the timing is not ideal to say the least. I will be stopping by tomorrow morning and camping out there all day until I see someone. I will have a check for $750 ready, but I don't have the official paperwork in my hand, so I'm just going to type up a letter myself!

I'm not losing this spot after working 3 years for it!!!!

I would also recommend calling and leaving a message. Leave a detailed message saying that you have the intention of submitting the deposit but without the official paperwork, you have no idea what to do. Also state the date and time of your message. At least you have some sort of evidence saying you were going to do it before the deadline. Good luck!

Hey,

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I am sure they will understand even if you aren't able to get it to them because of all the craziness with the snow. As for the official paper work, you do get several different documents in the letter they mail you but you only send them a single page back with your check for the deposit. That one sheet has two boxes to check (one of which you check to say you are accepting/one declining) and then you sign and date the bottom. So if you are worried about not having paper work to send in with your deposit, don't stress it too much. The rest of the documents just include the congratulations on your offer of admission, telling you to send in official transcripts by a deadline, form about requisite experience, and then a couple of pages about the technical standards that you are declaring you are physically able and mentally able to do everything they ask you in dental school.

Hope that helps ease the stress at least a little. Good luck!

They've got two phone messages, and two e-mails from me already. 😎

Thank you for the info. I'll draft up a letter with two checkboxes and bring it with me tomorrow when I drive over to the school/ admissions dept.

At the very least I'll be leaving it at the security desk!

Dr. Meehan just got back to me; they're working with me to resolve this due to the extenuating circumstances. Whew.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Maryland Dental admissions dept! They've been wonderful!

😀

Congrats, always nice when things work out.
