bludevla4 said:Cost is definitely an issue, because I have trouble justifying paying twice as much for a comparable education at an out-of-state school. I also have friends in the area and I have always liked Baltimore, but this was not a major factor in my decision. I know several students at umd and they all have very positive things to say about the school, plus I like how the classes are usuallly over by noon every day. There is a general notion that both the students and teachers are very friendly and helpful - I think everyone who has visited the school for interviews also got this impression. Overall, I have never heard anything negative about the school besides the fact that some of the facilities are showing their age. It seems that the school is addressing these issues however, and wants to make a genuine effort to satisfy its students.
i agree, the medical school building has just about had it. The hospital and the library are incredible, though! i remember them saying at the interview that they were building a new lecture hall for the med students, but i didn't catch when it would be finished...anyone know? let's hope for fall of 2005 🙂
