Hello,

I want to ask if its worth it to do master in biomedical sciences (I got accepted to Midwestern MA program) or I should only take additional classes to boost my s/overall GPA which is ~2.9 - 3.0. This is going to be my 3rd time applying to dental schools. DAT is 18. I already have a HUGE debt from undergraduate ~$45,000. So, If I do master, it will be another $40,000. I will graduate this semester and I do not know what to choose. I am leaning toward doing master 1 year and doing well on it but thinking about the debt is making me sick. I contacted 2 dental schools months ago and they told me if I do master it will be better because I will be having separate GPA. Please help me if you or if you know someone else who was in a similar situation.

Did Midwestern really accept 104 students? I think the class size is 140, not sure though. Can someone confirm this? probably a Midwestern dental student.

please, Feel free to chime in with your suggestions.

You know you have to do a masters. May want to retake that DAT as well, 18 isn't bad, but it doesn't help considering your GPA is low. If you really want to pursue dentistry, the debt is something you're going to have to take on, which isn't a small task. Ask yourself if this is something you really want and take a look at your other possible career options as well. Good luck.

Might as well do the masters and take additional classes at the same time. Your debt as an undergraduate may seem bad, but it's all an investment towards your future.

What do you mean by doing master and "take additional classes AT SAME TIME"? Have you or anybody done that before?

Yes, taking classes that fulfill my masters program and additional classes that would benefit my dental education.

I think a Master's program would help your chances greatly.
