Just out of curiosity, why can't you stand engineering?

My school is full of engineering majors (relatively speaking), and I suspect you and I may have similar feelings.

If you are enrolled in the program at the time you get your offer of admission to medical school the offer may be contingent on your successful completion of the degree program in which you are currently enrolled. (Schools are judged by the proportion of students who graduate and med schools don't want to screw over grad schools by poaching their students.)

On the other hand, if you drop out before applying to medical school, you look like a quitter and adcoms will worry that you made an uninformed decision to pursue engineering and your decision to pursue medicine may be equally uninformed.
