For someone with a low undergrad GPA (cGPA: 3.3 and sGPA 3.16) can a rigorous masters be worthwhile for gaining acceptance to a US med school?

My thinking is that a post bacc doesn't help me at all if it takes me a few application cycles. A masters degree would be useful if it took me a few years to get in. I've checked out the curriculum for a one year masters in biomedical sciences that is offered by a school near me, that has a med school, and it is no joke.

Thanks,

Nick

No, and instead of wasting all that time and money doing a masters degree, you should work hard on your MCAT score and other peripheral things like volunteering with the intention of applying to DO school. Trust me, it's infinitely better to save time and money than to keep chasing being on par with people who already have a leg up on you by virtue of scores.
