that does look good...I would love to hear feedback about how it compares to OMT Review by Savarese
i'm not too sure but i think it's for the entire comlex and not just omt but i could be wrong.

Well, I bought the book and it is way overpriced. I dont really know how good the content is...but what they sent me was about 50 sheets of paper inside a piece of construction paper..and it was stapled down the middle ...all for 70 bucks. 🙁

This site is a fake, i would not buy it because it could just be somebody selling their OMT notes on the internet and call it the master's guide to COMLEX I. The best way to study for COMLEX I is do all the USMLE step I and study OMM/OMT stuff from your own school.

I dont feel like the site is fake or their materials, I just feel that what they are selling is way over priced for what they mail to you.

Angel

Do you think the overprice comes from the construction materials or from the quality of the content? thanks

I bought it thinking that they would be regular sized books -- but they really are tiny. The questions are good, but there are just not enough for that price.

Medhacker, I dont really know where the high price comes from? I know it cant be from the construction of the materials. I dont really know how high the quality is ...........since I havent taken the test.

Hey,

As one of the authors of the "Master's Guide" I would like to address some of the questions that students have raised regarding our material. First and foremost, we have gone to great lengths to make sure that our questions do not violate the copyright regulations of the NBOME. Our questions are designed to prepare students for the COMLEX I and if used appropriately should raise your score by 50-70 points, based on student reviews. We price the material based on the stipends given to our questions writers and the costs of production. We try to write our questions in a way that will give students a quick and bulleted review of the most high-yield information in a format that is specific to the COMLEX. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have regarding this material. Good luck to everyone in your board preparation.

Please allow me to remind everyone on SDN that it is a violation to identify other users by name in posts.

How many questions are there in this book?

The questions are not numbered. It really isnt a book as which one would think of a regular book. It is more like a pamplet/booklet. But it has 51 pages in the booklet, but only due to it being folded in half. For that reason it is actually about 25 sheets of paper. On average it is 3-8 questions each page

Hope this helps.

It's a pimplet? Don't they have kinkos over there to make it more sturdy for long term use?

I'd like a slightly more unbiased opinion on this comlexmaster book. It seems to me that the comlex/usmle just takes lots of work. First Aid and the Kaplan books should suffice...but most importantly do the qbank questions to find out the areas you're weak at and study that.

I bought the books (there's a supplemental 2006 ed. so they send you both) and I've really liked using them. I did use Kaplan and First Aid, and of course Qbank. However, the Master's Guide is good question review (or pimping) and getting to "second order" questions. My friends and I used it to quiz each other and found it very useful. 😀

I hope this helps! Also, we're taking it next week and pretty much done with them. If anyone would like to purchase a cheaper used copy from us, I'm sure that we could work something out. 🙂

Good luck to everyone on the Boards! Study hard!

Hi folks - I have the 2005 Master's Guide and I would recommend it - it's good for making flashcards and for hitting obscure factoids that you may have overlooked.

Good luck!

To the two "yah" sayers on here, please let us know if it increased your COMLEX score by "50-70 points." According to the author(s), it will.

I bought these books based on a recommendation of a 3rd year who I know did well last year. He used the 2005 edition and said it got him a lot of the 2nd level questions that he would have otherwise missed. I had him look through the 2006 book and highlight stuff that looked familiar and he marked about half of my book. I take the real thing in three weeks so we'll see. I put the first aid away and I'm just using this thing to quiz myself now.

Almost a 3rd year....Hurrrrraaaaayyyyyyy!!! 🙂

I would like to buy the book used, please post in thread, I have instant notification of answers on

They should call it the "Master's Guide to ERRORS!"

This thing is so bogus...i'm only on page 15 and already I found like 3 errors. It says an increase in estrogen during menopause for God's sake!

Thank god it was a bootleg copy...what a waste of a tree. 👎 👎 👎

They need to find someone with the Master's Guide to the English Language and have them rewrite the questions. I do not think they even hit spell check on the word processor before they had it reproduced at staples. The blue font in the 2005 edition gives me a migraine. The format of the book is horrible! Put the answers on another page so I can quiz myself. What research have they done to back up the claim it is going to raise my COMLEX score by 50-70 points.

the same research that most companies use when they say "If you buy this you will get whatever desired outcome you heart desires"

that research
