Hey guys, this question is not related to dental school at all, but since there are no forums on here related to the program I'm talking about, I figured I would ask my fellow pre-dents.
My girlfriend is currently applying for PHD programs in psychology. In addition to the PHD programs, she also applied to a masters program as a sort of back-up in case she didn't get in anywhere else. She interviewed and was just accepted to that masters program today (woot). In her acceptance e-mail, they said that they wanted a response within 10 days on whether or not she will be attending. There is no deposit.
My first reaction was "No deposit??? Sign your a$$ up!" But I'm a bit apprehensive because of the wording of the acceptance e-mail. They didn't say anything about "holding the spot", just a yes or no. I'm not sure it is as common/understandable to say "yes" to an offer and then change your mind as it is with dental school, and I don't think it's a good idea to call and ask because then she's telling them that she's waiting on other options.
Does anyone who has maybe done a masters program know how this works?
Thanks in advance.
