hey guys,

Take the pre-reqs, if you had not taken them before. If you have, and you gave a dismal performance, then I recommend doing a masters, preferrably, a non-thesis rich in biomedical science, biology courses. The only pre-reqs you will need to RE-take, are those you made below a 'C'. Doing a masters will give you a new gpa for adcoms to consider and will stand out (granted you get a gpa >3.7) from your ugrad performance. Good luck.

Right I dont have the pre-reqs at all... my UGPA is 3.45 and I have some Masters work with a GPA of around 2.5 or so. So my question is whether it matters if I take the science classes at a Undergrad institution or post-bac style?

If you take more classes you should take upper level scince or graduate classes. Dental schools want to see if you can handel a heavy load, since u will be takeing 22-30 creadit hours a semster. And I do agree with the person who said to do a non-thesis and foucs on masters program that provide you with a heavy load of classes..such as a master in biomedical scince.best of luck to you.

I'm not sure if there is a preferrable way. Just as long as you do well in your pre-reqs and upper level science courses. From what I understand, the class schedule in a formal post-bac is already set for you with all the classes you should supposedly need. If you do an informal post-bac at an ugrad institution, you have more leeway with your schedule and can have the option to take additional upper-level courses, like histo, biochem, micro, etc. Somebody speak up if I'm wrong. The preferrable one for me is the cheapest option.

i'm not sure, but i think i am in a similar situation ...
i already have a bachelors but either didn't have the pre-reqs or need to retake them due to poor grades. so i'm taking them by themselves at an undergrad uni. i know i'm not taking a full load of classes, but i'm hoping that they're understanding in the fact that i've already taken full loads of classes, i just need to take these particular classes so i can take the dat and apply.
so my choice is for undergrad u 🙂
