Congrats everyone! Anybody know what the average number of unfilled IM spots is for any given year?
 
Congrats everyone! Anybody know what the average number of unfilled IM spots is for any given year?

Not sure of the average but as a few others have mentioned it was only 51 this year. I'm assuming this will be trending down in upcoming years (though this is only conjecture), based on the upped med school enrollment.

On a related note this makes me somewhat nervous for Friday, there seemed to be so many awesome applicants this year! :scared::xf:

I second this statement. And again, congrats to everyone who matched today, and good luck to those going through SOAP.
 
2012: 51 unfilled spots (pre-SOAP)

Past years' unfilled spots (these numbers are all post-scramble I believe, taken off NRMP's data spreadsheets)

Are you referring to match day? If so, it's friday this year because of SOAP
