Hi everyone!
I was one of the lucky ones to match in this crazy competitive field. My Dean called me with the results and the name of the place. I also confirmed it with SFMATCH, however the program has not contacted me yet as of today and is making me a bit nervous. How long should we give them? Does this mean any thing?
TIA and congrats. to everyone

The same thing happened to me too! But I was told by someone who matched at my program last year that they usually send letters to us instead of calling us. Maybe that's what your program also has in store???

me too...matched at UVA but no phone call....a little worse for me too since Im an IMG and have no deans office to speak of! I was in agony all day yesterday till I caved and called SF Match...begged and pleaded citing "acute coronary issues" before they finally relented and told me where I had matched.... what a day.... I think Ill go back to sleep now!

Don't worry. Programs contact their new residents at various time frames. Some do it immediately, and others can take days to weeks!

The match is a binding contract between you and the program; thus, your SFMatch notice is official and a legal document!

Binding Commitment
By signing your rank list you formally commit yourself to accept a position in any one of the programs you have listed. Both parties are bound by the results of the match. However, your actual entry into the training program (and your continuation in it) is contingent upon your satisfactory completion of the usual prerequisite training, any special requirements the program may have stated explicitly for all applicants, and satisfactory performance during your training.

I hope this helps!
