I have a solid number of categorical neurology interviews. I do not have any advanced neuro programs yet (hopeful for one but it is v late in the season).

With regard to the prelim-medicine programs, should I be putting them on my main rank list (at the bottom), or not ranking them at all?

If the worst happens and I fall down my rank list to the prelims, would I still be able to apply to categorical neurology programs the next cycle?

I do not want to be stuck after a PGY1 med year with only a handful of PGY2 neuro spots open around the country. So wondering if it would be better to SOAP.

Any advice would be appreciated, as I do not have a primary advisor to help me!

Do not SOAP. SOAP is only if you have no other choice. There should be an option to only match to a prelim if you match to an advanced only program first. In other words, don’t worry about it.
