This may have been posted, but I can't find the answer:

I'm a MSIII thinking ahead to the match. My boyfriend is currently an intern at a competative program. I'm probably going to apply in FM or IM, and I'm wondering if there's any process where I can "couples match" to somewhere were my boyfriend already is. Is it just the regular process and then they take into account that he's already an resident there?

You can mention it in your PS and during your interview.

Some programs will consider this and you will be at an advantage, eventhough you are not officially applying via couples match on ERAS.

As noted above, to participate in the couples match, you BOTH have to be registered.

Therefore, for programs in the same area as your BF, you should make mention of that fact as well as other reasons for wanting to be at that program. I wouldn't be above making the BF into a fiance for the time being so as it make it seem a little more "legit".
