I am taking the MCAT on June 29th and am starting my study schedule Monday giving me roughly 2 months to prepare. I have nothing planned for this summer except volunteering/shadowing so I will spend most of it just preparing for the MCAT I plan to do 6 hours a day for 5-6 days a week. I have a 4.0 and have aced all the classes that will be on the MCAT. I'm trying to get a gist of the best material to use to prepare for it though. Here is what I am going to use and would love your guy's input if I am going in the right direction. I want to make sure I prepare the right way.

Material
  • Princeton MCAT review 7 books. I plan on completing all of these.
  • Princeton 3 practice exams.
  • Magoosh 250 videos on preparing for the MCAT. I'll try to watch most if not all of these ($99. Please let me know if anyone has used this before and if it is worth it. If not I'll unsubscribe before my free trial is up)
  • Magoosh flash card app. I will do these every few days to review.
  • 2 AAMC practice test
  • AAMC CARS practice passage (I may buy this if I hear good things about it)
Do you guys think this is the correct way to go about studying for the MCAT?
Also, I'd like to hear people's opinions on the Princeton review books.

Thanks for your time and help.

Also content review is a necessity, I would also recommend doing more practice exams so you can gauge your score across time and make sure you save the AAMC practice tests for the tail end of your studying. I haven't used the Magoosh/Mafiosi resources, but I can attest to the Princeton MCAT review books being good material, albeit dense and perhaps too in-depth than what you'll probably need on the MCAT.

Hi thanks for the quick response. What do you mean by "content review"? I was under the impressive that the Princeton Review books would give me enough content review of all the material I learned. If not, what do you suggest to use.

Content review refers to going through each chapter of each of the subject books - i.e. Biology has many chapters which include musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, immune system, etc. Although going through the content is important - make sure you also do a fair number of practice tests so you can gauge what the questions and familiarize yourself with the structure of the exam. When studying for the MCAT exam, I used a combination of both Princeton and Kaplan - in my opinion, Prince is good, just dense.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I planned on reading all of the Princeton review books and each section so i could review all the content. I'll make sure to take a good amount of practice exams. Thanks for the help.

If anyone has used Magoosh videos, could you give me your thoughts? I want to know if it's worth spending the money and time on it
