Hey guys,
need help in solving those problems
What is the probability of six tails out of nine tosses of a fair coin?

A donut shop bakes a dozen donuts at a cost of $4. To achieve a 33% profit on sales, what is the minimum sales price the donut shop set for each donut?

How do you solve this probleme?

In a regualr deck of fity-two card, what is the probaility of drawing a diamond on the first try?

Thanks so much for your help guys

p = probability of getting a tails (1/2)
C(x,y) where x = 9 and y = 6.
C(x,y) = x!/[y!*(x-y)!]

The equation to solve this is (just memorize it):

C(x,y)*p^(x)*(1-p)^(x-y)

Plug in the values for x and y and you should get 21/128

Cost to make a donut: 4.00/12 donuts = 0.33/donut
0.33 *1.33 (want to break even and make an additional 33% so 100% + 33% = 1.33) = 43 cents per donut.

if i remember correctly, topscore does have 43 cents listed as a choice, but selling a donut for 40 cents isn't enough so you're left with the best answer, 50 cents.

52 cards in a deck. 12 cards are diamonds, 12 are spades, 12 are clubs, 12 are hearts. so the probability of drawing a diamond is 12/52, or 1/4.

Hope this helps ya out.

it should be 13 for each suit...thus 13/52 and still 1/4

i'm sure this just slipped your mind but i'm anal like that... 😀
