Okay, I know some med schools don't have anything for math, and some say two semesters of anything (some saying one of them has to be Calculus).

Anyhow, what happened was...my first year in college I went to a Cal State which was quarter system. I took Calculus there in the fall, and got a B in it. I left Cal State because they had this cluster program that I didn't like finished off the year at semester based CC in California, before finally coming back to FL. At my FL cc in the fall, I took Stats and got an A in it (semester based).

Now my question is...my quarter unit was translated into 2.6 credits on a semester scale - for Calc at Cal State. Will Medical schools count that as taking two semesters of math? My statistics class is of no problem, but the Calc class under the quarter system is what gets me wondering. I hope it counts, because the last thing I'd want is to take another math course.

Not to be a pain but....no one can offer me their insight on this matter?

Thanks, it'd be greatly appreciated it.

A 2 semester math requirement will be fulfilled by anywhere from 6 to 8 semester credit hours. Schools are generally pretty explicit about the number of credit hours they want their students to have completed while in college. Including your stats class, have you completed 6 to 8 semester credits? (was your stats class worth more than 3 credits?)
Sorry, I can't help you more than that.

My stats class was worth 3 credits, and my calc in semester units was worth 2.6 in the end (4 for quarter)...thus bringing it to 5.6 credits.

I hope that does satisfy it as two semesters...I mean like I said, the last thing I want to do is take a math course, let alone a difficult one like calc!

I think it is kind of case by case. My school is on a quarter system and I have two quarters of math, which pans out to something like 5.4 semester hours. It is less than the prerequisite six, but only one of the seven schools I interviewed with brought it up in my application review, and I talked them into letting it slide.

But another thing to think about, is that not all schools accept statistics as a math class.

The majority of schools don't even require math. I took AP calc in high school, and haven't touched math since. The only schools that I was interested in that this was a problem for were Harvard (2 sem of calc required) and Mount Sinai (2 sem of math required). I actually applied to Mount Sinai intending to take Statistics, but it wasn't my top choice and when I realized none of my other schools required it, I withdrew and didn't take stats.
