If a math question is asked on the DAT's, do they expect population standard deviation or sample standard deviation? I know it's technical, but just wanna be 100% sure.

In population standard deviation, the denominator of the equation is just N, or the number of samples.

In sample standard deviation, the denominator is N-1.

Thanks.

I usually see it with N-1 because you usually work with a sample. The two answers would probably be close to each other anyhow - I doubt both would be listed. I don't think you see 'none of the above' all too often if at all, so I would look for an answer that fits into one of the two. I would start with N-1 though.
