Hey everyone. I have a question about math courses/requirements. I have AP Calculus credit. I go to a UC and they told me I didnt need to take the first Calculus course and that I would just need to take 2 more quarters of math. So I did just that. The AP credit will show up on my transcript and it will say how many units I received for it. On the transcript it wont show that I got out of that first Calculus course. So how do medical schools look at this? Will the schools that require math look at that AP credit and look at me as though I have that one calculus course? Or do I need to send a letter to AMCAS and let them know about this? Thanks!

When you list the course in AMCAS, you list the AP class WITH a name (Calculus) even though the transcript might not specify what its credit was for.

This way AMCAS and the med schools will know you got AP credit for a calculus class. If you go to the AMCAS handbook, these are the directions for submitting AP classes in case you dont believe me
