Hello, in high school I took AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics and got a 5 on both exams. Assuming both ap score show up on my transcript, do I need to take any more math classes in college to apply to medical schools or is this enough.

Most medical schools will not accept AP credits for pre-requisite courses like Math, Physics, Chemistry, etc. They want you to have taken the college course.

The good news is that you can fulfill the pre-med Math requirement by taking a good statistics course in college. Understanding statistics will help you more in reading and understanding, or one day writing, research papers.

I don't think there is a med school that requires Calculus specifically any more, but you might have to take it as part of your college major.

MSAR data show prerequisites by college and they do vary.
Here is a good cheat sheet. Good luck.

You see the wide variation of medschools accepting AP credit or advance courses as replacement along with individual topic area restrictions (2nd column from right). This is why most undergraduate med school advisors recommend not using any AP credit for required premed classes; despite most accepting advance course work, there is too much variation between medschools on limitations.

Thanks for the response! Personally for me I go to a quarter system school so should I take 2 quarters of statistics? Or would 1 quarter in combination with my AP credit be enough?

This is something that will very from school to school. If you can't find the information on a med school's website, then you might have to contact the admissions office and ask.

If you feel good about calculus, it might even be a good idea to just take the course again in college, since it should be a relatively easy A that will count towards BCPM. Be careful though, some colleges have their introductory calculus courses as weedouts for engineering students, and are actually harder than other math courses.
