Salaries of A and B were ratio of 3:5. If Salary of each is increased by $1200, new ratio becomes 2:3 what is the present salary of A? ans. 3600

First the ratio is:
A/B= 3x/5x
Then
A/B=(3X+1200)/(5x+1200)=2/3
Finally Solving for x:
9x+3600=10x+2400
x=1200
A=3x=3600
