Although I know it will vary by school, how would you maximize your opportunities during med school? What sort of activities are available for med students outside of the classroom and how you do find time do them without them interfering with grades? From what I have read, there are opportunities for research (basic science and clinical), specialty interest groups, class chairs, international aid, community outreach programs, and external rotations. Are there any that I am missing? What is the best way to get started and involved in these programs? Thanks.
